United Package Liquors was created in 1964 to give consumers a safe, personable and respectable business in which to shop. We have attained this by providing clean, well maintained and attractive properties along with employing trustworthy, mature, dependable and motivated personnel. It is our mission to carry on with this tradition and constantly expand our services to the consumers. History of United Package Liquors

United Package Liquors is quickly expanding. In the past six years, the Indianapolis-based chain has nearly doubled in size from 13 to 24 stores and receives at least two or three phone calls a month from other owners wanting to sell their stores to the company.

Founded in 1964 by Leon Riggs, the chain grew over the years from a single store to a dozen. At the same time, Riggs also started Lor Corporation, a successful commercial real estate development company.

We will continue to revolutionize the industry by keeping ourselves knowledgeable of the current trends and providing our expertise to our clientele. We hope you have a pleasant shopping experience with us.

The United Hope Foundation

For years, the philosophy of United Package Liquors and Lor Corporation has been, "You are never too tall to reach out and help someone in need." Over the last several years, United Package Liquors and Lor Corporation have been involved with various philanthropic projects benefiting organizations throughout Central Indiana.

United Package Liquors has also collected donations in its 24 retail stores which have been matched dollar for dollar by each individual store and Lor Corporation. The money collected was given to various charities helping those in need.

The efforts started taking a life of their own. Employees of both United Package Liquors and Lor Corporation wanted to make an even bigger impact in the community, so in 2005 the United Hope Foundation was created.

The mission of the United Hope Foundation is to assist other non-profit organizations serving individuals and families facing financial hearship.

Since inception, the foundation has given more than $300,000 to charities in Central Indiana.
